Month 5

It's been quite the month!!!  P weighs 13 lbs.   At the beginning of the month she was only 11 pounds and decreasing in percentile.  So now instead of being almost exclusively breastfed with only 1 bottle of formula at night before bed, she is getting formula multiple times throughout the day as well as being breastfed.  We just aren't emotionally ready to give up Breastfeeding yet so we're holding onto it.
This month she and I went on our first trip together to Tennessee for her to meet the rest of her family.   She was such a great traveler.   I gave her a bottle on each ascention and descention and she slept through both landings.   The people around us said they never even knew there was a baby on board.  She did cry a couple of times.  Once for her diaper,  once because she was hungry and once because she was sleepy, but her cries didn't last more than a minute and were pretty soft.   Gramma and Grampa Twork picked us up from the airport.   The next day we went to Grandmother and Granddaddy Dickson's house.  It was their first time meeting her.  I think they're pretty smitten with her! :)  We tried to split our time evenly between the grandparents but some unexpected dental work put a wrench in that.
Pearl is quite the roller now. She rolls back to front a lot and front to back a little.   She often insists on sleeping on her stomach so she is no longer swaddled, but sleeps in a sleep sack instead now.  She also scoots from one end of the crib to the other.
At the beginning of the month P played in her friend Jack's Jumparoo.  Her feet didn't hit the floor and we had to put 2 thick books underneath her feet.  She didn't get how to jump, was waaay too small for the seat, and couldn't hold herself up in it.  Here in TN she is using her cousin Mary Catherine's Jumparoo.  She holds herself up great, plays with the spiny toy, can turn herself, touches the floor, and can even jump!!!  She loves for us to say "Jump Jump" and then she'll jump and lift her legs up and smile.
She loves to be sang too.  Whenever I change her diaper, get her dressed for the day, or after a bath I always sing "You Are My Sunshine".  This month she has started trying to sing along with me.  She watches my mouth and opens hers and makes noises along with me.  It's adorable.  She also loves the song her Grandpa Twork wrote for her about flying with Peter Pan.
